Tanzania National Roads organisation (TANROADS) is a government organisation under the Ministry of Works and Transport in charge of developing and maintaining Tanzania’s national road network. This covers trunk and regional roadways, as well as axle load regulation using weighbridges to protect road infrastructure. Duties and Responsibilities:
- To creating a shift schedule for the specific weighbridge station;
- To oversee the weighing of automobiles on our public roads that weigh 3.500 kg or more in gross vehicle weight (GVW);
- To guarantee that, in the event that a vehicle is discovered to be overloaded, road damage fines are immediately assessed;
- To measure the physical dimensions of cars or any freight being transported on them, and to advise the transporter to apply for a special permission if the vehicle dimensions are not met;
- To determine whether the abnormal permit is being followed; to recognise, develop, and create workable solutions for new issues on weighbridge stations;
- To assess the general functionality, dependability, and safety of the weighbridge scales; and to carry out any additional related tasks that the supervisor may assign.
Job Qualifications, Experience and Skills:
- Holders of Bachelor Degree in one of the following fields: Scientific Metrology, Law, Sociology, Business Administration, Social Work, Psychology or equivalent qualifications from a recognized Institutions.
- Familiarity with road transport laws and axle load control will be beneficial.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer skills, especially in data entry and reporting.
- High level of integrity and ethical conduct.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data recording.
