Job Summary: Performing SAP related activities for Transport Department (Trained for TMS & MM) core user
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee transportation department, including its assets and employees.
- Manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management.
- Ensure customer goods move from production through the supply chain to the end user.
- Establish quality transportation services.
- Develop partnerships with self-collection customers.
- Plan and implement budgets.
- Supervise scheduling of truck movement.
- Conduct regular safety audits on equipment
- Organize training sessions for employees (e.g., proper use of machines and handling of hazardous material)
- Keep organized records of vehicles, schedules and completed orders
- Ensure compliance with company policies and shipping legislation
- Stay up to date with safety regulations.
- Maintain electronic databases of sales, registration, inspections and maintenance of fleet management.
- Ensure fleet availability to meet all requests by scheduling, forecasting and surveying current user trends.
- Arrange fleets and fleets operational staff to provide support and schedule special event planning.
- Monitor and ensure fleet operation in compliance with local and state rules and regulations.
- Facilitate and implement corrective actions and capacity building to manage entire fleet to achieve company objectives.
- Ensure that vehicle and drivers logbooks are properly maintained for input vehicle into relevant documentations.
- Oversee activities involving vehicle licensing, renewal, and other statutory registrations
- Review and sign-off on periodic vehicle fuelling requests, in line with approved provisions.
- Coordinate routine servicing and repair of vehicle as required and maintain relevant documentations.
- Perform periodic vehicle inspection, report incidences and provide recommendations to Head of Department
- Liaise with the approved mechanics workshops to ensure prompt and complete service and repair of DCL trucks.
- Prepare and submit monthly fleet status report
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in logistics and transportation.
- Master’s degree with a focus on logistics and transportation.
- 20 years or more of relevant experience, with at least 10 years of transportation-specific experience.
- Professional certification in logistics and procurement.
- Fundamental understanding of computer applications.
- The capacity to use scheduling strategies for personal job in an efficient manner.
- Fundamental understanding of both automated and manual record management systems.
- Strong ability to resolve conflicts and solve problems.
- Strong communication abilities.
