Duties and Responsibilities:
- Leading Safari Tours – Guide tourists on game drives, walking safaris, and cultural tours, assuring their safety and enjoyment.
- species Interpretation: Provide informed and fascinating comments on species, habitats, geography, and conservation initiatives.
- Guest Safety – Ensure all guests’ safety by adhering to company protocols, monitoring wildlife behaviour, and managing field risks.
- Operate safari vehicles and carry out routine maintenance, including daily pre-excursion inspections, to ensure they stay in optimal working condition.
- Communicate with lodge staff to ensure they provide timely meals, coordinate activities, and meet guest needs.
- Complete basic first aid training and remain prepared to handle emergencies in the field.
- Environmental Stewardship – Encourage conservation ideals and follow park laws to safeguard wildlife and habitats.
Job Qualifications, Experience and Skills:
- A genuine Tanzanian driver’s licence with category C and PSV endorsements.
- You must be able to read, speak, and write in English. Employers prefer candidates who have knowledge of German, French, and Spanish.
- Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills, along with excellent off-road driving abilities.
- Requirements include the ability to handle unforeseen situations and maintain visitor safety, a customer service-oriented mindset, and the ability to operate effectively in a team. Employers prefer candidates with experience in the tourist business or a similar field.
