Duties and Responsibilities:
- Training and Education:
- Create safety training programs and schedule frequent sessions.
- Ensure that all employees are informed and follow safety protocols.
- Introduce new staff to workplace health and safety procedures.
- Health Promotion:
- Encourage workplace wellness and occupational health programs.
- Liaise with medical specialists to ensure that employees at risk receive proper health surveillance.
- Risk Assessment and Mitigation:
- Regularly identify risks and conduct safety audits to mitigate them.
- Identify potential hazards and suggest preventative actions.
- Investigate mishaps, accidents, and near misses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Reporting and Documentation:
- Generate reports on health and safety performance for management.
- Maintain and update any documents as required by law and organisational policies.
Job Qualifications, Experience and Skills:
- A diploma or degree in occupational health and safety, industrial engineering, or environmental science.
- Tanzania training and certification for OSHA, first aid, and fire safety.
- A minimum of two years’ experience in a similar field.
- Strong understanding of PPE and workplace safety standards in the manufacturing business.
- Must be under 35 years old.
- Knowledge of Tanzanian occupational health and safety legislation.
- Communication and training skills.
- Self-motivated with great field discipline and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
