This project is being conducted by MUHAS to support early childhood education through caregiver and teacher readiness in Tanzania.
EN_REACH-ED is a research project that aims to provide a school readiness triad, a preschool parenting and teacher readiness program. It is designed to enhance parental and teacher capacity to improve school readiness among preschool children in Bangladesh, Nepal, and Tanzania.
Specifically in Tanzania study focuses on the readiness of both children and caregivers to enter the preschool education program. To achieve this, it implements an initiative called Every Newborn–Reach Up Early Education Intervention for All Children (EN-REACH). This new project will support the adaptation of the EN-REACH program to incorporate key components on teacher readiness to facilitate easy transition to pre-primary education (EN-REACH ED). This study focuses on examining accessibility, equity, and quality of education among learners with and without disabilities across primary schools. Moreover this one-year project will generate evidence to inform national educational planning and policies that support inclusive and equitable learning environment
POSITION DESCRIPTIONS:
1. District Supervisors (2 Positions – Full-time)
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and supervise the study implementation within the assigned district.
- Ensure proper training, scheduling, and support for field assessors.
- Monitor field data collection activities, ensuring data quality and protocol adherence.
- Collaborate with school leadership and local stakeholders to facilitate study activities.
- Prepare and submit progress reports to the central coordination team.
- Manage logistics, transport, supplies, and communication for field teams.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- A bachelor’s degree or diploma in nursing, education, sociology, social sciences, or a similar discipline.
- Previous experience with educational research or field coordination.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal abilities.
- A valid nursing licence.
- Experience in inclusive education is advantageous.
2. Assessors (8 Positions – Part-time)
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments in primary schools using study materials and recommendations.
- Conduct questionnaires, interviews, and observational checklists.
- Maintain accurate, ethical, and timely data collecting.
- Maintain frequent connection with District Supervisors and report on daily progress.
- Maintain kid protection and research ethics at all times.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or a diploma in education.
- You must be a qualified instructor.
- Experience dealing with primary school students is necessary.
- Outstanding communication and data collection skills.
- Commitment to kid safety and ethical research guidelines.
