Position: Microfinance Sector

Location: Mwanza, Kagera, Geita, Mara

We are looking for Branch Accountant Interns in Mwanza, Kagera, Geita, and Mara. This is an opportunity to advance your financial career while also supporting grassroots development, particularly for women in rural and underserved communities.

Responsibilities:

  • Voucher preparation, payment processing, and accounting register maintenance.
  • Create and submit monthly financial reports.
  • Perform daily cash versus bank reconciliations.
  • Keep records up to date and make regular entries into the system.
  • Ensure accuracy by reviewing and correcting any errors discovered during visits.
  • Manage both physical and digital assets, including tagging and reconciliation.
  • Support internal and external audit processes and provide timely responses to audit reports.
  • Implement safety standards in all tasks.
  • Any other duties assigned by your supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A degree or diploma in banking, finance, accounting, or a related field from a reputable institution.
  • New graduates with fieldwork experience or 1-2 years of experience in the microfinance industry or related programs.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Kiswahili.
  • Basic understanding of entrepreneurship and applicable financial regulations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and web-based systems.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
