GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications) is the most widely used mobile communication technology in Tanzania. It operates on standardized frequency bands and allows voice calls, SMS (text messaging), and basic data services. Introduced in Tanzania in the late 1990s, GSM revolutionized the telecommunications landscape by enabling reliable and affordable mobile services across the country. Major telecom operators like Vodacom, Airtel, and Tigo use GSM as their foundational network, ensuring wide coverage, especially in urban and semi-urban areas.

Position: ERP Manager

Location: Daressalaam

In Tanzania, GSM has played a crucial role in improving communication, especially in rural and previously underserved regions. The technology supports the use of SIM cards, which makes it easy for users to switch devices and access services without changing numbers. It has also enabled mobile money services like M-Pesa and Tigo Pesa, which are deeply integrated into the daily lives of Tanzanians. These services have increased financial inclusion by allowing people to send, receive, and save money using basic GSM-enabled phones, even without internet access.

Despite the growth of 3G, 4G, and now 5G networks, GSM remains essential in Tanzania due to its simplicity, affordability, and coverage reach. Many Tanzanians still rely on GSM networks for basic communication, especially in areas where more advanced networks are unavailable. The government and mobile operators continue to invest in GSM infrastructure to bridge the digital divide and ensure that even remote communities can stay connected.

Job Purpose:

To lead the ERP team in developing, implementing, and optimizing the organization’s ERP system to streamline business processes and support strategic objectives.

Responsibilities:

1. Strategic ERP Leadership:
   • Develop and execute an ERP strategy that supports GSM Group’s digital transformation initiatives.
   • Oversee the integration of ERP systems with other technological advancements within the organization.
2. ERP System Management:
   • Manage the day-to-day operations of the ERP system to ensure stability and performance.
   • Collaborate with various departments to customize and improve ERP functionalities.
3. Change Management and Training:
   • Lead change management activities related to ERP system updates and modifications.
   • Develop training programs to enhance staff competency in utilizing the ERP system.

1. Project Management:
   • Coordinate ERP-related projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and budget.
2. Stakeholder Engagement:
   • Act as the primary point of contact between IT and other business units for ERP system matters.
3. Troubleshooting and Technical Support:
   • Provide timely resolution to ERP system issues and technical glitches.
   • Offer expert guidance and solutions to user queries and operational challenges.
4. Reporting and Analysis:
   • Develop and maintain ERP-generated reports for business insights.
   • Analyze ERP data to support strategic decision-making and report key findings to management.
5. Continuous Improvement and System Updates:
   • Proactively seek and implement system enhancements for better performance.
   • Keep the ERP system up-to-date with the latest software updates and patches.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree or Master’s in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
2. • Microsoft Dynamics 365 certification ( Finance Functional Consultant Associate
   , Business Central)
3. Relevant certifications in Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP

Experience:

1. Minimum of 5 years of experience managing ERP systems in a medium to large organization.
2. Proven track record in successfully implementing and upgrading ERP systems.
3. Relevant certifications in Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP

Skills:

1. Strong leadership and project management skills.
2. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
3. In-depth knowledge of ERP system architecture and principles

Competencies:

1. Strategic thinking with a focus on digital transformation.
2. Change management proficiency.
3. Analytical mindset with problem-solving orientation.
