The key purpose of this role is to maintain, repair and optimise plant and associated devices to ensure plant availability and product quality at minimum cost without sacrificing standards.

Key roles and responsibilities:

Maintain a Safe, Healthy, Risk-free Working Environment:

  • Comply with safe, health and environmental procedures and legislation
  • Maintain safety and housekeeping standards
     

Maintain, Repair and Optimise Plant and associated:

  • Locate plant, equipment, spares and relevant documents/systems
  • Plan, and prepare the job
  • Carry out repairs/maintenance
  • Continuously improve (optimise) plant, process equipment and systems
  • Operate plant and process equipment

Apply the VPO Practices:

  • All work is carried out using the VPO practices

Work in Teams:

  • Communicate effectively in Teams
  • Contribute to self and team development

Maltings Performance:

  • Shift Team efficiencies
  • Product quality
  • Wastage
  • IQMS parameters

Plant Reliability:

  • Malting plant reliability
  • Malting systems reliability
  • Asset management indicators
  • Schedule completion rate
  • Problem Solving
  • Completed 5 Why’s

VPO:

  • General production housekeeping

Health, Safety and Environment:

  • Adherence to PPE policies
  • Identification of unsafe practices
  • Safe maintenance practices audited
  • Maintenance tools are in good working order

Minimum Requirements:

Education:

  • Min – Diploma in Electrica
  • Ideal – Higher Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering plus Brewing or Maltings Diploma
  • Min – 2-3 months on the job training plus Manufacturer Basic Maintenance
  • Training Ideal – 3-6 months on the job training
  • 1-2 years as an Electrical ArtisanAdditional Information:Band: X
