Driver 1 Post – Duties and Responsibilities:
- Safely transport patients to and from hospitals, medical appointments, and other healthcare institutions while guaranteeing their comfort and punctuality.
- Deliver medical supplies, equipment, or documentation between hospital departments, clinics, and other facilities.
- Maintain and clean allocated cars, and report any maintenance issues quickly.
- Follow all driving rules, hospital safety measures, and infection control procedures.
- Assist patients entering and leaving cars, including those with mobility issues.
- Plan effective routes and respond to traffic or urgent transportation demands.
- Maintain correct trip logs and submit reports as needed.
Job Qualifications, Experience and Skills:
- Secondary school education (Form Four) and a driving certificate from the National Institute of Transport (NIT).
- A valid driving licence with a clean driving record.
- Depending on the type of vehicle, a commercial driver’s license (CDL) may be necessary.
- First aid certification is an advantage.
- At least two years of professional driving experience, preferably in a healthcare or patient transportation setting.
- Strong navigation and driving skills, as well as knowledge of local routes.
- Superb interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Ability to assist people with mobility issues (up to 60 kg or as needed).
- Being familiar with healthcare safety measures is advantageous.
- Ability to maintain composure and professionalism in high-pressure situations.
- Must pass a background check and drug test.
- Flexibility in working hours, including evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts.
