Survival Hospital is a private healthcare facility located in theushe, Mabira, Kyerwa District in Kagera Region of northwestern Tanzania. Position Summary:

Reporting to the Nurse Manager/In-charge, the Assistant Nursing officer will assist with all nursing
activities and quality initiatives carried out within the unit. He will also maintain open communication channels with their immediate supervisor, as well as other SURVIVAL HOSPITAL departments for the benefit of the patients and staff. Finally, the Assistant Nursing officer will maintaining patient confidentiality and will provide the best of care at all times. The Assistant Nursing Officer will play a key role in the provision of research nursing services, day-to-day planning, and execution of clinical study activities, and to act as a team player for a clinical study team consisting of research nurses and study physicians.

Roles And Responsibilities

  • Delivering high quality nursing care to patients;
  • Organizing and assisting clients and relatives towards patients’ well being;
  • Liaising with staff in other disciplines who are contributing towards promoting well-being of the patients;
  • Involving patients and relatives in care and rehabilitation;
  • Keeping and maintaining up-to date inventory and report any loss or damage promptly;
  • Keeping records of all staff and leave schedule for all nursing staff in her unit;
  • Planning and conducting ward rounds and carry out all instructions thereafter;
  • Ordering and keeping proper records of DDA and other drugs to check on validity and expiry date for each drug;
  • Assisting staff in practicing new trends of nursing care and participating in Research;
  • Demonstrating an attitude of faithfulness, love and compassion in the course of fulfilling the call to care and comfort the patients;
  • Keeping abreast with new knowledge and skills through self-development and Participation in various scientific activities; and
  • Performing any other duties as assigned by his/her Superior

Qualifications Requirement:

  • Knowledge, skills, abilities necessary to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position satisfactorily.
  • These could be manual, Administrative, technical, professional and operational.

A. ACADEMIC/EDUCATION.

  • Minimum Diploma in Nursing from recognized collage or school of nursing.
  • Current registration with the Tanzania Nurses and Mid wives Council (TNMC).Tanzania job opportunities
  • Maintains a valid Nursing Licensures in the United Republic of Tanzania.
  • Certificate of following module during Nurse Orientation .certificate in Basic life support (BLS).

B. KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in hospital setting basically in maternity and labor unit.
  • Work efficiently under pressure, have technical profiency, be able to work well with a Team or take charge if required.
  • Possess exceptional patient interaction.

Skills and Competence:

  • Patient Management skills.
  • Team worker, able to work in a multicultural environment, punctual and high integrity.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with computer skills and software programs used for documentation activities and report generation.
