Positions Available:
A. Project Engineer – Responsibilities
- Ensuring all tasks or activities are always executed and aligned with safety standard operating procedures and safe work instructions.
- Analyzing project specifications, developing work schedules, and delegating tasks to different teams
- Ensuring that each project stays within the allocated budget and timeframe
- Determines project responsibilities by identifying project phases and elements, assigning personnel to phases and elements
- In-depth understanding of design and visualization software such as AutoCAD
- Maintains project schedule by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities, and resolving problems
Qualification, Experience and Competencies.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline.
- Project management experience is recommended
- Proficient with MS Office & MS Project
- Valid Driving License
- Must have a minimum of 5 (Five) years worked as Project Engineer on Construction Projects
- Must have strong mechanical background with Steel Fabrication and Erection works, Equipment Installation and Commissioning works.
- Sound knowledge of Mining Safety Regulations and best practice.
- Possess a valid light vehicle manual-class driving license.
- Mines Health & Safety Act Awareness.

B. Boilermaker Supervisor – Responsibilities
- To effectively manage all the activities specified within the position profile on North Mara Gold Mines: Training, Maintaining, repairing fabrication issues, and Routine inspection on a variety of UG machines Coordinate activities in the unit and report back to Mobile Maintenance Superintendent.
- Carry out mechanical repair and preventative maintenance to maintain all equipment in a safe and efficient manner to achieve production and cost targets.
- Interpretation, access and reading of job specifications and relevant information
- Ensuring that the selection of materials for repairs, replacements and inspection comply with the required standards.
- Correct selection of hand power tools hand, welding equipment, thermal cutting equipment and thermal heating equipment and safety equipment for safe use.
- Using oxy acetylene welding & cutting, thermal gouging and thermal heating.
- Interpretation of safety data sheets (SDS)
- Planning of the logical sequence of welding operations
Qualification, Experience and Competencies.
- Trade qualified – Boilermaker or Metal Fabrication Discipline.
- Sound knowledge of Mining Safety Regulations and best practice.
- Team Player and result oriented.
- Mines Health & Safety Act Awareness.
- Ability to train less experienced members of staff.
- 2-3 years in a Maintenance role responsible for Boilermaker
- Experience in open cast mining essential
- Ability to work autonomously/independently with limited supervision.
- Ability to act and operate as part of a team and possess a “can do” attitude that will motivate the crew to action company directives, regardless of opinion.
- Good time management skills and the ability to complete tasks in a safe, timely and professional fashion.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal

C. HR Operations Superintendent – Responsibilities
- Conduct HR departmental meetings
- Ensure safe work practices – attending compulsory safety courses and meetings, use of required PPE, incident/accident reporting, and ensuring total adherence to all Safety, Occupational Health, and Environmental Policies, and other relevant policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Coordinate the GM’s quarterly meeting with the workforce
- Communications to the workforce (with Q&A) for all new policies/developments that are happening within a company.
- Implementation of Barrick succession plan tools
- Provide weekly and monthly reports, updated and shared
- Conduct Safety Interaction and hazards, submission loaded on the share folder weekly
Qualification, Experience and Competencies.
- Bachelor’s degree in human resource management or equivalent. A master’s degree in human resources management will be an added advantage.
- 10 years’ experience in the Mining/extraction industry or the processing, manufacturing, or building and construction industry
- 5 Years Supervisory / Leadership Experience
- Strong knowledge of risk management and problem-solving techniques
- Knowledge of dealing with culturally diverse groups and skilled in utilizing appropriate means to communicate effectively
- Knowledge of mentoring employees from diverse backgrounds
- Computer literate in the Microsoft Package Applications – Word, Excel, PowerPoint
