CCBRT (Comprehensive Community Based Rehabilitation in Tanzania) is a prominent healthcare institution located in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, committed to enhancing access to specialised health services for individuals with disabilities and the wider community. Established in 1994, CCBRT offers high-quality services in ophthalmology, orthopaedics, maternal and newborn health, and rehabilitation. One of its primary purposes is to empower people with disabilities by providing inexpensive and accessible treatment, physical therapy, and assistance with inclusive education and employment. CCBRT serves thousands of people each year through its hospital, community outreach, and partner initiatives, therefore reducing and promoting equitable opportunity.
In order to strengthen our physiotherapy and occupational therapy offerings, We are searching for a devoted Occupational Therapist to join our rehabilitation team in Moshi, as well as Physiotherapist(s) to join our rehabilitation team in Dar Es Salaam.
Physiotherapist Roles:
- Assessment and Diagnosis physical problems and movement issues.
- Treatment Planning – personalized therapy plans.
- Rehabilitation by helping patients recover strength and mobility.
- Pain Management by using different techniques to reduce and control pain.
- Promote Health – Encourage active and healthy lifestyles.
- Patient Education – teach patients and caregivers about conditions, treatment strategies, and home exercise programs
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration
Occupational Therapist Roles:
- Assess Daily Functioning – Evaluate a person’s ability to complete daily duties.
- Create Treatment Plans – Plan tactics for improving everyday living and job abilities.
- Rehabilitation – Assist customers in regaining independence following accident or sickness.
- Adapt Environments – Make changes at home, school, or job to improve access.
- Provide Assistive Devices – Make suggestions for items or equipment that will help with function.
- Support Mental Health – Engage in activities to help you handle emotional and mental issues.
- Educate Clients and Families – Show how to enhance and retain independence.
- Work collaboratively with healthcare and education providers to provide holistic care.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Physiotherapy/Occupational Therapy
- Licensed Physiotherapist/Occupational Therapist authorised to practise by the Medical Council of Tanganyika
- A member of the Association of Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists in Tanzania
- Able to use electrotherapy machines.
- Specific trainings will offer value (CP treatment, back pain management, basic wheelchair use).
- Computer literate
- Good presentation skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities (in English and Swahili)
- A proactive mindset and enthusiasm to work.
